The Difference Collective unveils plans for London offices
The Difference Collective today announces that it is to become the first virtual agency to secure a physical office for all its members.
As agencies across healthcare communications belatedly embrace home-working and down-size their office rent, The Difference Collective believes the time is right for IRL, investing heavily in bricks and mortar and unveiling its blueprint for a new way of working. The Difference Collective led the industry in 2017 with its visionary purpose-built virtual approach: now the team is setting a brand-new course for others to follow.
Founder of Angie Wiles, says: “We’re known for doing things differently, so when we saw industry stalwarts starting to give up office space and follow us towards a more virtual and flexible way of working, we knew it was time to be creative with our next move. We’re swapping , with room for our 80-strong and growing Collective.”
Working with award-winning architecture practice Lirpa & Loof, The Difference Collective has made public the radical interior designs of its new flagship office, which include:
- Kitchen and bathroom for every Collective member
- Private offices for all 80 members, designed to each individual’s specifications and equipped with independent temperature controls
- Wine cellar
- On-site urban farm containing cows, sheep and muntjacs
- 200 litre tea urn
- Fully stocked blanket boxes throughout
- Private nature reserve
Founder and CEO Angie Wiles adds: “Replicating all the benefits of virtual working in an office for our consultants has been a challenge. But we never shy away from tough challenges. After all, we are always bringing the best and most experienced talent to bear on our clients’ problems. It was a big change at first to have everyone in an office, especially for our members who are commuting from Canada, but the benefits to local coffee shops seemed a price worth paying.”
The new offices will be part of a complete renovation in April Street in trendy Hackney, east London.
And to celebrate today’s landmark announcement, The Difference Collective is inviting creative suggestions for facilities and services it can offer its members in their new office.
